Wedding season is in full swing. If your big day is just around the corner, we know you are probably busy planning and making last minute preparations. Even with everything going on, it’s important to take some time for yourself so you can look your absolute best on your big day. Check out these five tips to help you be flawless on your wedding day.

Get Plenty of Sleep

It may seem difficult, but it will help you deal with any wedding complications if you aren’t sleep deprived. The term “Beauty Sleep” is real. Tired skin sags and loses its luster. Lack of sleep causes blood vessels to dilate, which leads to the appearance of dark circles. Make sure you are getting around seven to nine hours of sleep each night leading up to your big day.

Get Waxed, Early

Waxing gives you silky, smooth, healthy, hair-free skin. Waxing of the legs, armpits, upper lip and bikini area are essential to eliminate time spent on shaving that could otherwise be spent on last-minute planning. If done by a professional, your wax should last three to four weeks, which means that one wax session before your big day means smooth skin for your honeymoon as well (bye bye razor, that’s one less thing you have to pack).

Don’t forget the brows! Have your brows shaped by a specialist as well. Just be sure not to go too thin or try to make any serious changes.

Get Pampered

We know there are a million things to get done before the big day, but you need to take time to relax and pamper yourself. Start by scheduling a spa day to free your mind of wedding day stress. After your relaxing facial, get a manicure and pedicure. Your ring will look gorgeous with a set of professionally manicured nails.

Watch Your Mouth

Believe it or not, the food you consume does affect your skin’s texture and clarity. The week before your wedding, limit your consumption of alcohol, spicy foods, and salt, all of which can irritate sensitive skin. As appealing as they are, booze and salt also cause water retention, which makes the eyes puffy, the body bloated, and the wedding dress uncomfortably snug.

Moisturize and Exfoliate

Soft hands, elbows, and feet are an absolute must for your wedding day. Never go to bed without applying a rich night cream that will hydrate your skin while you sleep. In the morning after cleansing the skin again, be sure to apply a moisturizing day lotion to keep your skin soft and supple. If you haven’t already, start exfoliating your body at least two to three times a week. Try a gentle body scrub, like Eminence’s Citrus Exfoliating Wash, that sloughs off dead skin cells without stripping your skin of moisture.

Most importantly, take a few moments to reflect on the meaning of your wedding day. This special day should be enjoyed to its fullest. No stress, no worries, no drama. By preparing in advance, the day will go as smoothly as possible. Happy prepping ladies!
